Hidden Cameras – Should You Use One?

What you have to ask your self first is, "Do I really need a hidden camera?" If you want to make sure that your babysitter is taking care of your children properly by all means a "Nanny Cam" is in order. Is someone doing damage to your car at night? Is somebody stealing your stuff at work? Whatever your answer is make sure you use a hidden camera, or spy camera, to catch somebody doing something illegal or immoral.

A big problem with hidden cameras is that too often they are used for less than ethical reasons. Just recently a news story came across my desk about a landlord of an apartment building that had wired four apartments with hidden cameras. He placed them in the bathrooms and bedrooms of the tenants. Thankfully the cameras were accidentally discovered and the landlord was arrested and is in jail. I am sure that is not an isolated instance.

Don't let yourself become a victim to that type of thing. If you are moving into a new apartment it might be worthwhile to buy what is called a "Bug Detector". This device can discover if there are any hidden cameras or microphones in your apartment. These neat little gadgets pick up the signal or RF being transmitted by a unit and you can locate it right away. You already know how to use one because you've probably seen them used often in movies and on TV. Turn it on and walk all over your apartment. The bug detector will let you know if it picks something up.

As you are "sweeping" your new place you have to be thorough. Really thorough! The latest spy cameras are very, very small and can be place inside almost any everyday object you would find in a home. When you do find something resist the temptation to move it or confront your landlord. Go out of your apartment and call the police. Don't call from your place because the landlord might be watching or listening in and be able to destroy any evidence before the police arrive.

So, you DO have a good solid excuse to use a hidden camera. Your choices will seem endless. A table lamp, a pair of speakers, even a DVD Player could contain a tiny hidden camera. You will be amazed at the options you will have when it comes to buying a hidden camera.

Just make sure you choose an item that "fits in" to your life style so that it does not raise suspicions. If you buy a Tiffany lamp with a spy camera, and all of your other furniture is Modern, you might raise a few eyebrows. Make sure what you get looks like it belongs there.

Not only do you have to make sure it blends in you have to decide what type of hidden camera you want. You really have three choices. You can get a wireless camera, a wired camera or an all-in-one camera/recorder.

With the wireless hidden camera you will have the item that contains the camera and a transmitter. This transmitter sends the video signal wirelessly to a receiver. The receiver is then attached to a recording device or a monitor or TV for viewing.

Choosing a wired hidden camera is probably the most economical but you have to contend with exposed cords. There will be A/V cords coming out of the device and then they are connected to either your TV or monitor to view the picture or a recorder to record the action.

You want an "All-In-One unit? They are readily available. These little guys consist of a small camera AND a recording unit. They record right onto an SD card! It does not get any easier than this. You take the SD card from the unit, plop it into your computer and you can instantly see what the camera has recorded.

There are many options available when purchasing a hidden camera: black & white or color, low light capability, motion sensing, date & time stamp, etc. You will be able to find the camera that fits your needs and your budget.

Last, but certainly not the least, make sure your reasons are good ones when you buy a hidden camera. You don't want to see yourself being led out in handcuffs from an apartment building!

Ideas On How To Always Keep Your Family Members Safe In Your Own Home

Back when I lived alone, I was little bit careless. It was not that I did not look after my safety. I just did not think a great deal of it. Right now with a family made up of several children, I realize finally the significance of keeping my family members protected.

I started to search for the best home protection for huge families just like mine. With a number of rooms in the house and different areas to secure, it was necessary that I locate the right tools to always keep us safe.

Luckily, I came across a security camera system which included all the things we wanted. Buying items in a package eliminates the trouble of searching for and purchasing them individually, which is not just a total waste of time and cash but could be confusing too.

I figured that having surveillance cameras around the house would be a foolproof way to safeguard my home and family. These are ideal for monitoring any kind of activity, so if anyone tries to enter, it will be recorded.

To cover our entire property, I opted for an 8 channel wired DVR complete system. It included a standalone 8-channel DVR and 8 day/night color wired cameras along with cables, a 17-inch screen, remote control and also mouse.

What drawn me the most to this system was the embedded DVR. It features full capability for networking. In this way, whenever we go on family vacations we could still watch videos live via the Web regardless of where we are.

There were other choices available, from a 4 channel DVR complete system to a 16 channel wireless DVR complete system. Depending on the size of our house, we can pick from 4, 8, and 16-channel systems. Some have wired cameras and others include wireless cameras, whatever is the buyer's preference.

I keep making it my goal to find the best home protection devices for securing our house. I am pleased that have achieved that objective once with an all-in-one security camera system. With this installed inside our home, we can monitor all activity to ensure our safety.

Rickard C Gillis is a leading expert in Surveillance and Security and supplies a big selection of hidden cameras, nanny cams, home surveillance solutions, and Digital Video Recording systems. If you ever ask yourself how can I purchase surveillance devices, you now have a safe website to order.
