Installation Tips For Wireless Domestic Alarm Systems

You have two kinds of domestic alarm systems which you can use to protect your home. There is the hard-wired alarm and the wireless alarm system. The much easier one to set up is the wireless alarm system. This is because hard-wired alarm systems involve additional work like electrical wiring, with experience and knowledge of this subject area required.

The wireless alarm system is however, not like this as it can be set up by say anybody who follows the installation guidelines. The main difference that exists between these two is the non-existence of cables, channeling of walls and similar stuffs like this. So how do you install wireless alarm system in your home?

First, you need to plan, which should be with the aid of a pencil and paper if installing any of the wireless domestic alarm systems. On the paper, you should draw a floor layout plan showing positions where you wish to provide protection in your home. The positions identified here will be where your wireless sensors (they will identify intruders) will be placed. Also, you will need to decide where to place your main control box.

This should be kept close to the primary entry or exit points in your home in order to allow you to readily switch this off or on when you need to. This feature is, however, not required in most wireless domestic alarm systems as they have key fobs, which allow you, switch on or off the device.

After this, the bell box is then set up if you want one, making sure this is located in a prudent place where invaders will not be able to get to easily. The next task should be equipping your external doors and windows with wireless sensors in order to enable them to set off the alarm when interfered with by any intruder.

Then you can conclude this exercise at this point with placing your internal sensors at the different strategic locations you have identified in your plan. To do a good job of detecting human movement you will need a PIR movement detector; which is one of the best wireless detectors. This detector can be easily screwed to the wall of your preferred location. You can complement your home alarm system with a CCTV security system otherwise known as close circuit television system.

CCTV security system can be done in two ways; which include fixed cable and wireless connection. The system is mainly made of CCTV-cameras, a monitor, a recorder (VCR or DVR) and cables (that is if connection is fixed cable).
